VW Places Stop Order on Defective Vehicles

Published on February 27th, 2018

Volkswagen has placed a stop order on several of its prevalent 2014 models, including the Jetta, Passat, Beetle and Beetle Convertible equipped with a 1.8 liter turbocharged engine and an automatic transmission. A defect was found in these vehicles with the O-ring linking the transmission oil cooler to the transmission. The defective O-ring could lead to leaking fluid and could potentially cause a fire. Volkswagen’s authorized dealers have been instructed to cease sales of the affected vehicles until the problem is corrected. Customers who purchased an affected vehicle can return to a Volkswagen dealer to have the defective part replaced free of charge.
